UTAH (WFLA) – A billboard for a dating website is turning heads on a Utah highway, KSTU reported.

The website is called WhereWhitePeopleMeet.com The billboard was put up across the 201 Freeway in West Valley.

“My first reaction was how awful it is,” Kayla Lemmon, a resident, said about the billboard.

Despite its name, the website states that it is open to everyone. However, some people think its intentions are pretty clear and the site and its billboard are sending a wrong message.

“I just think we should’ve passed that whole mindset of staying within our own races, segregation pretty much!” Michelle Dessau, a resident who opposes the sign, told KSTU.

Some viewers posted on KSTU’s Facebook page that since there are dating sites specifically geared to people of different religions, professions, backgrounds, so it’s not a big deal that a site like that exists.
