Dade City murder suspect arrested

DADE CITY, Fla. (WFLA) — Pasco and Hernando deputies arrested a suspect in the Dade City murder that happened Saturday evening.

When deputies arrived at 37412 Tait Avenue in Dade City, they found one male victim behind a house with multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Jose Leonardo Romero-Sule, who later died at the scene.

A person of interest was seen leaving the area at the time of the shooting. He is being described as a heavyset, Caucasian male who was wearing a white motorcycle helmet and driving a red and white racing-type motorcycle.

Crime Stoppers tips and the investigation led to the suspect’s arrest in Hernando County. He was identified as Matthew Lamar Folsom, 29. He was taken into custody at about 10 a.m. Sunday.

He is at the Hernando County jail and will be transferred to the Land O’ Lakes Detention Center in the coming days, according to PCSO. Folsom is charged with first-degree murder.
