Gunn Highway reopens after man dragged by car at gas station

PASCO COUNTY, FL (WFLA) – Gunn Highway was shut down for about two hours on Saturday while detectives with the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office investigated a fight at an Odessa gas station that led to a person being dragged by a car.

Deputies shut down a stretch of Gunn Highway between State Road 54 and Ashley Lakes after receiving a report of a fight in which a driver dragged another man across a parking lot.

It happened at the 7-Eleven parking lot located at SR 54 and Gunn Highway.

Pasco sheriff’s deputies say a man was talking to another man who was parked at the gas station. The two got into a fight and the driver of the car ended up dragging the other man across the parking lot.

The victim was dragged between 100 and 200 yards. He suffered non life-threatening injuries and was conscious and talking when he was transported to the hospital.

The driver took off in a white, 4-door sedan. According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, he drove south toward Hillsborough County.

Detectives are examining the gas station’s surveillance video as part of the investigation.
