Clearwater fire truck flips after colliding with car

CLEARWATER, FL (WFLA) – A Clearwater Fire and Rescue truck responding to a scene collided with a car and flipped, according to Clearwater officials.

It happened Saturday afternoon around 1:40. The fire crews were at the scene of a small fire at the Gulf View Hotel located at 625 S. Gulfview Boulevard. It was a kitchen fire and there were no fire-related injuries. Two people nearby got cuts from broken glass bu they refused treatment.

The CFR truck was near East Bay and Missouri avenues in Largo around 2 p.m. It was responding to the scene with its lights and the siren on when it collided with a car and flipped.

The driver was taken to a hospital. His injuries are non-life threatening, according to the city officials. Largo Police detectives will investigate the incident.
