MIAMI (AP) – The Skytrain people mover that serves Terminal D at Miami International Airport has been shut down after a train went off the tracks.
Airport spokesman Greg Chin said via email that the derailment happened around 2 a.m. Tuesday during a maintenance check. The train is expected to be out of service all day Tuesday.
Terminal D serves American Airlines and American Eagle. Chin recommends that passengers flying on those airlines should arrive earlier than usual to allow extra time to get to their gates.
The Miami Herald reports an employee was on the train but not injured in the derailment.
