LARGO, Fla. — The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday re-dedicated its new Child Protection Investigation Division playroom.
The sheriff’s office said the playroom was made possible through generous donations of Suncoast Voices For Children and the Rotary Club of Central Pinellas.
Suncoast Voices for Children President Carol Conaway and Rotary Club of Central Pinellas Director Vera Broga, as well as board members from both organizations, were present to receive a plaque from Sheriff Bob Gualtieri in acknowledgement and gratitude for their generous contribution to CPID and to young victims in Pinellas County.
The playroom will be used by children who are removed from their homes due to neglect, abuse or abandonment. It is intended to provide a safe, temporary environment where they may find comfort and peace while placement is determined.
