FDA expands recall of celery with possible E. coli

Recall now includes Starbucks

(NBC) – A recall of food products containing celery potentially contaminated with the E.coli bacteria has been widely expanded.

The FDA has expanded the recall to now include more than 155,000 items at several major grocery stores in 16 states including Costco, Target, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Albertsons, and Safeway, primarily in western states.

Also included in the recall, over 45,000 Starbucks holiday turkey sandwiches. The celery was in the stuffing.

The E.coli scare initially began with contaminated celery found in rotisserie chicken salad at Costco last month which has sickened at least 19 people in seven states.  All of the products were manufactured by Taylor Farms Pacific Inc. of Tracy, California.

The FDA has posted a complete list of the recalled products on its website HERE.
