Newborn girl found buried alive in riverbed in CA

COMPTON, CA (WFLA) – A newborn baby girl was found buried alive in the crevice in the riverbed in Compton, CA, this weekend. The child survived and is listed in stable condition. Authorities are asking fo public’s help to identify her.

Detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Bureau put up a post on their Facebook page asking for the public’s help in the girl’s case.

They said that the girl was found Friday when somebody called the police saying that people heard a baby crying in the riverbed near the bike trail. Deputies responded and canvassed the area. They found a little girl buried under pieces of asphalt and rubble inside a crevice along the bike path.

Deputies got her out of the crevice. She was wrapped in a blanket and cold to touch. Paramedics took her to a hospital and she is now in stable condition. Doctors say, she has been born within the last 36 to 48 hours.

Detectives are asking for any information about the girl.
