SPCA seeks help for cat with chemical burns

PASCO COUNTY, FL (WFLA) – SPCA Suncoast has started a GoFundMe campaign for Hugo, a cat that was found alongside a road in Hernando County with severe chemical burns.

The SPCA says Hugo will need extensive treatments to heal the burns. He will also need an auto skin graft and four to six weeks of daily wound dressing.

He may also have to undergo more than one surgery to fully close a wound that is almost the length of his entire body. Hugo also has wounds on the left side of his face, his ear, and his left paw. Vets have said those wounds are improving.

The SPCA says that despite his long road to recovery, Hugo is a sweet and loving cat that would make a great addition to someone’s family once he fully recovers.

Right now, it is not clear how Hugo received the chemical burns.

More information on how to help Hugo can be found on the SPCA’s Facebook page.
