JACKSONVILLE, FL (WFLA) – Four people were shot and killed in a murder-suicide in Jacksonville Friday afternoon, NBC affiliate WTLV reported. Two victims are 5-month-old twins, according to WTLV.
The twins’ mother survived but got a life-threatening gunshot wound.
It happened Friday afternoon in Oceanway. Neighbors said they heard six gunshots. Travis James Hiatt, 49, Hayden Rose and Kayden Reese Hiatt, both 5 months old, were shot and killed. The suspect Gawain Rushane Wilson, 28, took his own life.
Megan Hiatt, 22, the twins’ mom, was wounded.
According to WTLV, police found a truck full of boxes in the driveway of the house when they responded to the scene. Local police authorities said the shooting was a possible reaction to a domestic issue at the home.
WTLV reported that the suspect Gawain Wilson had criminal history including an injunction for protection filed against him for repeated dating violence and an arrest for strangulation.
