PLANT CITY, FL (WFLA) — The Plant City High School Raiders are taking on the East Lake Eagles during their first Playoff game Friday night at 7:30 pm. The school wants the community to attend the game and support the team.
The PTSA is sponsoring a pre-game tailgate party with music and food for sale as part of a fundraiser for the organization.
The Raiders got to the playoffs last year, but lost in the first round. This year, they’re focusing on teamwork. The team became the district champions (6-0) and did well overall (9-1).
Principal Susan Sullivan explains that students participated in team building activities all year. The team also has a new head coach and standout seniors. She also credits this year’s success to the talent many of the younger players are showing during the season.
WFLA News Channel 8 and 933FLZ hosted a morning pep rally. Students, football players, band members, cheerleaders, and the team’s mascot showed just how excited they are about the game.
