Approximately 50,000 Americans will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2015, and about 40,000 Americans will die as a consequence of pancreatic cancer in 2015. National survival rates reflect the advanced presentation of this cancer, as only about 6% of patients nationally with pancreatic adenocarcinoma survive 5 years.
Florida Hospital Tampa is one of only two hospitals in the US to have access to this new approach to therapy that provides direct and local delivery to the pancreatic tumor in patients who were previously not candidates for surgery. Pancreatic Cancer Education and Upcoming Seminar is Nov. 11.
