PASCO COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – A Pasco County Sheriff’s Office volunteer is accused of molesting a 3-year-old girl. Neil Puntenney, 66, of Hudson, worked with the Citizens Service Unit, beginning in 2008.

Puntenney is charged with lewd and lascivious molestation. He is currently at the Land O’ Lakes Detention Center on a $15,000 bond. Deputies say Puntenney touched the victim’s genitalia, had her touch his genitalia and took photos of her.

He was removed from the volunteer unit. As a citizen volunteer, Puntenney augmented patrol, responded to traffic issues, dealt with parking issues and assisted in petty theft investigations, among other duties.

“Whether a volunteer or a full-time member of our organization, everyone is going to be held accountable,” Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco said. “This is one of the lowest crimes someone can commit, an offense against a child, and he will face justice for his actions.”
