ST. PETERSBURG, FL (WFLA) – A man driving a rental car hit a median in St. Petersburg near the spot where the St Petersburg Police DUI Unit was conducting an investigation. The driver was pulled over and arrested for DUI. But officers also found $4,000 in cash and a child’s book bag packed with drugs.

It happened at 4 a.m. near 38th Avenue North just west of Interstate 275. The DUI Unit was conducting an investigation when the officers saw a rental Dodge Charger hitting a median after exiting the interstate.

SPPD officers pulled over the car and found out that the driver Jonathan Forman, 41, was impaired. He struggled with the officers before they could handcuff him and refused to take a breathalyzer test, according to SPPD. He was initially arrested for DUI.

When the officers searched his car, they found the Pixar’s Cars book bag that had 500 grams of marijuana, half a ‘cookie’ of crack cocaine (which is more than half and ounce), and a digital scale. The suspect also had about $4,000 in cash on him at the moment of the arrest.

Foreman was taken to the Pinellas County jail on charges of Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Sell, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Resisting Arrest without Violence and DUI.
