Gas leak prompts partial road closure in Seminole, businesses re-open

SEMINOLE, Fla. (WFLA) — Only one eastbound lane of Park Boulevard is open while crews respond to a gas leak in Seminole.

Fire crews responded to the leak around 12:30 p.m. on Friday. The gas leak was located underground, in the driveway to a Home Depot at 10550 Park Blvd. in Seminole.

A Seminole Fire Rescue spokesperson said that a passerby had noticed gas coming up from a nearby manhole.

Shortly after the leak was discovered, nearby businesses were evacuated and drivers were asked to avoid the area.

Traffic was originally stopped east and west of Park Boulevard, according to the Seminole Fire Rescue spokesperson.

However, westbound Park Avenue traffic was later reopened and one lane of traffic is being allowed on eastbound Park Boulevard.

No injuries have been reported.
