4 brothers arrested in Tampa gun store burglary, 42 guns still missing

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla- (WFLA) – A tip led to the arrest of four brothers who are suspected of stealing more than 40 guns from a Tampa business last week. The guns have not been located.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office had released surveillance photos and video from Shooting Sports on Dale Mabry that showed four burglars stealing 42 weapons from the store on Thursday, Oct 22.

After receiving the tip on Oct. 24, detectives worked overnight to find the four brothers suspected in the theft.

A sheriff’s office spokesperson said that three of the brothers, Xavier Navarrette, 22 of Tampa, Emilio Navarrette, age 20 of Plant City, and Gabriel Navarrette, age 24 of Plant City, were arrested in Hillsborough County. The fourth brother, Mario Navarrette, 25, was arrested in Jacksonville and will be transported to Hillsborough County.

Mario Navarrette was charged with armed burglary, possession of burglary tools, felony criminal mischief and grand theft second degree. Xavier Navarrette was charged with armed burglary, possession of burglary tools, criminal mischief and grand theft second degree. Emilio Navarrette was charged with armed burglary, possession of burglary tools, criminal mischief and grand theft second degree. Gabriel Navarrette was charged with armed burglary, possession of burglary tools, criminal mischief and grand theft second degree.

Detectives say they are following up with several search warrants in an attempt to locate the stolen guns.
