Forsberg scores in SO to lift Predators past Lightning, 5-4

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Filip Forsberg scored the only goal of the shootout to lead the Nashville Predators to a 5-4 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday night. James Neal scored twice, and Mike Fisher and Shea Weber also scored for the Predators. Nashville’s last two wins have come via a shootout.

Predators goalie Pekka Rinne allowed four goals on 29 shots through overtime, but he was sharp in the shootout, denying all three Lightning shooters.

Steven Stamkos, Nikita Kucherov, Ryan Callahan and Erik Condra scored for the Lightning, who have dropped three of their last four games.

In the tiebreaker, Forsberg skated to the right and beat Lightning goalie Ben Bishop with a quick wrist shot. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
