In March 2014 April Weber was arrested and charged with murdering the little girl, Aubrie Weber. At the time, April Weber was charged with first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse.

Weber later accepted a plea deal, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office said Monday. Weber pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and aggravated child abuse. On Monday she was sentenced to 40 years in prison for the homicide charge and 30 years for the aggravated child abuse charge.

The sentences will be served concurrently.

Weber admitted to throwing the baby onto the bed, deputies said. She told deputies the baby bounced off the bed onto the floor. Then, investigators say Weber told them she picked the child up again by the feet and threw her against a dresser.
