TAMPA, FL (WFLA) – The mother of two murder victims organized a gathering aimed at stopping violence in Tampa Sunday afternoon.
Jerrilynn Aponte lost her son five years ago when he was murdered in Tampa. Her second son was shot and killed in the city this September. He was shot near a recording studio on North 50th Street.
Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay offered a reward of up to $3,000 for information that would lead to an arrest in this case.
On Sunday, people gathered near a make-shift memorial by the studio. They carried signs walking down the street. Aponte says she is heart-broken after her loss and the change is needed in the community to stop the violence.
