Teens shot two consecutive nights in east Tampa

TAMPA, FL (WFLA) – Tampa police are investigating a shooting that occurred at 20th Avenue and 19th Street in east Tampa Sunday night, authorities said.

A 17-year-old young man suffered a non-life threatening injury, Tampa police Lt. G.A. Neal said. The teenager’s name has not been released.

The motive for the shooting is unknown because the victim has been uncooperative, Neal said.

Neal said there is no evidence that the shooting on Sunday night is related to a shooting on 48th Street in east Tampa Saturday night.

In that shooting, the victim was a 14-year-old boy, who suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound in the leg. The motive also was unknown in that incident.
