HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL (WFLA) — Two men have been arrested in connection with an early morning shooting outside a hookah bar in Hillsborough County.
Around 2:15 a.m., deputies responded to the corner of W. Waters Ave and Pinehurst Drive in Town-N-Country early Monday morning for reports of a shooting. According to investigators, Rudy Hernandez Jr was walking with his friend in the area when a male, later identified as 21-year-old Kafeel Robinson pulled a gun and shot the victim in the upper body before fleeing getting in to the passenger side of a vehicle and fleeing the area.
Hernandez made his way across the roadway before collapsing in a nearby parking lot in front of the Babylon II Hookah lounge. The suspect’s vehicle returned, slowing in front of the business. A handgun was extended from the front passenger window and numerous shots were fired into the parking lot before the vehicle fled.
Two individuals sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot when the shots were fired. One of the rounds hit the hood of a their vehicle and lodged into the glass of the windshield. Neither of them were injured.
Joseph was taken into custody.
Robinson fled on foot and was apprehended in the backyard in the area of Shenandoah Court after a deputy deployed his taser when Robinson refused to show the deputy his hands.
Both suspects are facing charges of attempted murder and discharging a weapon from a vehicle along with a slew of other charges.
