OCALA, Fla. — An Ocala man is accused of killing his neighbor’s dog by poisoning it with antifreeze.

Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies said Noah Maxson, 19, admitted to mixing a boiled egg with antifreeze and feeding it to his neighbor’s 10-year-old Jack Russell terrier named Tinker.

Maxson said he killed the dog because it was barking at his guinea hens, even though the dog did not go on his property or harm the birds, according to investigators.

The suspect’s mother, who lives with him, also told deputies that her son had poisoned a neighborhood dog in the past.

Maxson was arrested and charged with aggravated animal cruelty. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
