POLK COUNTY, FL (WFLA) – After more than a year since the accident happened, Polk County Sheriff’s Office announced a $10,000 reward in the hit and run crash that killed a young woman.
The victim Jill Braddock, 20, of Lakeland, was found Aug. 9, 2014. A driver called Polk County Sheriff’s Office and said he saw a woman laying on the side of the roadway on eastbound Clubhouse Road near Tillery Road in Lakeland.
PCSO deputies found the woman’s body which appeared to have been there for a few hours, according to the PCSO report. The car that hit her was a 2007-2009 model dark-colored or black Nissan Altima, that would have front-end and mirror damage on the passenger side, according to PCSO.
Detectives said that the car was likely going east on Clubhouse between 12:30 a.m. and 1 a.m. on Aug. 9 when it struck the woman.
PCSO, Heartland Crime Stoppers, and Sally Beauty Supply in Lakeland are now offering a combined total reward of $10,000 for any information about this case.
“We just passed the one-year anniversary of this awful and tragic case,” Sheriff Grady Judd said. “We know that someone out there knows what happened to Jill Braddock. We are hoping that this reward money will entice those who know to come forward and help give Jill’s family some closure. Nothing can bring her back, but with your help, we can find out who is responsible and put him or her in jail.”
