Police: At least one boat stolen from South Tampa boatyard

TAMPA, FL (WFLA) — A South Tampa boatyard was broken into early Thursday morning, according to Tampa Police. Detectives say a boat, and possibly several boat motors, were stolen from Cata Marine, located at 5400 S. West Shore Blvd.

Police believe at least two suspects broke into the boatyard. One of the suspects hopped over a fence into the boatyard, got onto a forklift and broke open the fence.

Police believe at least one boat and possibly some boat motors were taken. Police believe the boat was towed away on a trailer with a pick-up truck. The believe the truck drove toward the Gandy Bridge area.

Police have no description of the boat or the suspect vehicle and are hoping video surveillance will assist in their investigation.
