ST. PETERSBURG, FL (WFLA) — Former WWE wrestler, Hulk Hogan, will appear in a Pinellas County court on Thursday morning. Attorneys for the media, including the Associated Press, will argue that more of the sex tape should be made public.
Terry Bollea – a.ka. Hulk Hogan – is suing the website Gawker for $100 million for releasing the video in the first place. The video shows Bollea having sex with the former wife of radio personality Bubba the Love Sponge Clem. A Pinellas County judge ruled that, for now, FBI records involving the video can only be seen by lawyers for Hogan and the news website Gawker.
The tape was leaked to Gawker, and the FBI investigated. Gawker filed a public records request in federal court for more information about the investigation, and the judge ordered it released. But when it was put into public record in the civil lawsuit, she sealed the records.
Attorneys also claim Gawker is responsible for leaking a transcript from the tape that reveals a racist rant that got him fired from WWE. The hearing starts in St Petersburg at 9:30 am.
