CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – Two Citrus County people were arrested after officials found deplorable living conditions inside their home filled with cats.
On September 29, animal control officers responded to the N. Redwood Avenue home. Once inside, officers discovered ‘deplorable living conditions.’ Photos from inside the home show trash bags, tubs, cups, cans, and litter stacked throughout the home.
In at least one photo released by the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, bags of trash and cat food piled from the floor to the kitchen counter-tops. All of the photos show numerous cats throughout the home. In all, animal; control officers seized more than 43 cats from the house. Several of them died from the conditions, including “flea infestation.”
The remaining cats were taken to a veterinarian for observation.
Diane Dennis, 55, and Wayne Dennis, 50, were both arrested for cruelty to animals.
