TAMPA, FL (WFLA) – There is a new talk show in the Tampa Bay area and it’s hosted and run by Bucs fans. “Every week we are going to have a retired player or current player and they will always be answering questions, interacting with the fans, taking pictures and different things like that,” said one of the show’s creators and executive producer Corey Curry.
The name of the Show is called “Fan Talk Tampa Bay” and it’s hosted by two of the Bucs Biggest fans who just so happen to be Roman “Captain Bones” Diaz and the woman who brought you “Stadium Dates” Hercillia Henderson. “This show is different for the fans because they have the opportunity interact with the players. Grab the mic and ask the questions that they want to know about the player and have them answer face to face. Which a lot of times fans don’t get the opportunity even at training camp to have that special moment and quality time with one of their favorite players,” said Captain Bones.
Fan Talk Tampa Bay’s Inaugural guest was none other than Buc’s running back Mike James. Henderson and James sat on a black couch with Tampa Bay Buccaneer pillows and James answered questions from a live studio audience about everything from his family life to some of his favorite foods.
“I think it’s awesome. I think we have the best fans in the world that’s my personal opinion and it’s awesome to be able to come here and talk with the fans and connect with them because you never get to do that. We walk around with a helmet on the majority of the time they see us so it’s good for them to see us face to face and have a conversation,” James said.
Henderson said she’s very happy with the way the first show came together. “It was great. Mike James was an awesome interviewee. He answered all the questions. He was prepared. The fans were very respectful. They came with great questions for Mike and it went great,” Henderson said.
Bucs fans that attended say the best part of the program was when they got to ask Mike James questions that were on their mind.
“It was good man. You know we need stuff like this in the city for fans to get a chance to talk to players one on one. To get to know them more personally and learn about them and their background and where they come from. I think it’s a good thing,” said Bucs fan Kareem McGill who is also known as “Franko”.
“It’s a great situation they have going on here you get to ask questions to an NFL player which really no one ever gets to do and you get an answer from them and they answer it honestly, said Don Bradshaw who is also know as “Skully Bucs Fan.”
The shows are recorded on Monday’s at Yucatan Live Bar and Grill in front of a studio audience and re-broadcasted through fantalktampabay.com. Fans are encouraged to stick around after the show and watch Monday Night Football on several of Yucatan Live’s big screen TV’s.
