GULFPORT, FL (WFLA) – A wrestler was arrested in Gulfport for domestic battery by strangulation, according to Gulfport Police.

It happened early Monday morning at an apartment on the 3200 block of 58th Street South. GPD officers responded to a call about a domestic disturbance. Thomas R. Latimer, 29, and a woman who called herself his girlfriend were at the apartment. The officers found out that the couple had been arguing last night. At some point the woman felt threatened and went to her bedroom to hide. Latimer followed her there, closed the door and wouldn’t let her out. He pushed her onto the bed and held her down by her neck, police say.

Latimer was taken to Pinellas County jail on domestic battery by strangulation and false imprisonment charges, both are felonies. His bail has not been set.

Latimer is a wrestler with TNA Impact Wrestling. He has been arrested before in Pinellas County, for a battery on a law enforcement officer and a disorderly intoxication. It happened in 2012.
