Seminole High students welcome freshman class

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL (WFLA) – More than 100,000 students are beginning school in Pinellas County. At Seminole High School, the student body is welcoming their freshmen class.

Nearly 600 freshmen filed into the auditorium. They had no idea what was in store for them. After getting their schedules, they left the auditorium.

Outside, the band began playing. Cheerleaders raised their pom-poms. Hundreds of other students stood by. Everyone was there to greet the freshmen and make them feel welcome.

As they went to class, some said they were still scared. But they hope they can participate and welcome next year’s freshmen class. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
