Polk Sheriff Grady Judd explained that leads are coming in– but so far, no suspect has been named.  No theory has been ruled out.“Could it have been random burglars that he confronted in the garage? Absolutely .  Could he have been targeted?  Absolutely,” Judd said.

One thing is certain, evidence shows there was a struggle before Yelvington was gunned down. “There was a physical confrontation, we can tell that,” Judd said.  As detectives work every possible angle to figure out what happened– parents and coaches try to explain the death of the man everyone seemed to love.

Anyone with information about this investigation is urged to contact Detective Katsoulis at 863.298.6925 or 863.298.6200.
