Bucs host High School Media Day for varsity teams

At the inaugural Media Day

TAMPA, FL (WFLA) – Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosted the inaugural Hillsborough County High School Football Media Day for the varsity teams from different schools in the county Sunday.

The organizers invited the teams from 27 schools, their coaches and players, to come over to the One Buc Place to get their pictures taken and to be interviewed by the local media.

Lanness Robinson, Hillsborough County Athletics Director and Darrell Taylor and Chris Leak with Tampa Bay Buccaneers Football Development put this event together to give the schools an opportunity to showcase the players and the coaches, Leak explained at the event.

“It’s a special event to showcase these kids and their coaches and really put them in the spotlight at the beginning of the season,” Leak said.

He told about his experience as a Gator at the SEC Media Day and said that this event was organized to bring this kind of experience to high school players.

Teams from about 20 schools showed up at the event.
