TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – The man charged with murdering a transgender woman in Tampa has been accused of killing another person. Keith Lamayne Gaillard, 18, has been charged with murdering 46-year-old Tyrone Sean Davis.
Davis’ body was found July 26 at the Temple Crest Park, located at 8116 N. 37th St. The medical examiner determined Davis suffered a single gunshot wound.
On July 26, the day his body was discovered, Davis was captured on video leaving work, getting into his silver Impala and driving out of the parking lot. The Impala was later found in an abandoned field in the 4000 block of E. Louisiana Avenue.
After the vehicle was discovered, officers searched it and found blood, the Tampa Police Department said. Police said they located Gaillard’s Florida driver’s license in the vehicle. In addition, there were shorts stained with Davis’ and Gaillard’s blood, according to police.
Police said a witness told them Gaillard was driving the Impala after Davis’ body was discovered. The witness reported Gaillard saying he was “catching bodies,” according to police. The witness and Gaillard then drove the Impala to a gas station, but it broke down – at which point they pushed it to the lot. Surveillance video from the gas station shows Gaillard driving the Impala, police said. In addition, Gaillard’s fingerprints were found in the Impala, police added.
“At some point the witness looked into the glove box of the Impala and saw paper work showing that Tyrone Davis was the owner of the Impala. Keith Gaillard then told the witness that he, Keith Gaillard, killed the person who owned the Impala at Temple Crest Park,” police said.
In addition, police said, the bullet recovered from Davis’ body matched a Colt .22 caliber revolver that a witness said Gaillard sold to a friend of his on July 28. Police also said Davis received a call from Gaillard before the murder.
Gaillard is also charged with murdering 25-year-old India Clarke, born Samuel E. Clarke. Clarke was found dead July 21 in park outside the University Area Community Center in Tampa. Detectives said they located a rental car in a parking area a short distance from where Clarke’s body was found that had been rented by Clarke. Detectives searched the car and found a condom in the backseat with fluid inside, which tested positive for Gaillard.
