JUPITER, FL (WFLA) – The families of two teenagers who disappeared on a fishing trip near Jupiter, announced Saturday that they are ending the private search for the boys, WPTV reports.
Perry Cohen and Austin Stephanos, both age 14, went missing during a fishing trip July 24.
The Coast Guard suspended its search for the boys on Friday, July 31. The Coast Guard found the teens’ overturned boat a few days after the boys went missing. The boat, which was left at sea, has since disappeared. A spokesman for the families said that the search has run its course and they had no new information, according to WPTV.
In the statement the families thanked US Coast Guard, all volunteers and the community for help and support.
The families are praying that one day the boys will be reunited with them, WPTV reported.
