Calling all pet owners! The Humane Society of Pinellas is now accepting applications for the 2016 Celebration of Companionship Calendar. The 13th annual Zoo Run Run is happening Saturday, August 22nd. Enjoy this 5k run/walk inside Lowry Park Zoo and along the Hillsborough River. The event fees benefit zoo programs and include free admission to the zoo after the race. The race and walk start at 7:30am with the children’s fun run following at 9:15am. And be sure to check out our Tampa Bay Rowdies! The next home game is August 22nd at Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg. The pregame show starts at 7pm followed by the game at 7:30pm.

It’s the party of the year in Gulfport… Gecko Gras… the 7th annual Gecko Ball! The Mardi Gras theme carries over from the Gecko Ball fundraiser to the annual Geckofest. Every year, the city of Gulfport celebrates the end of the summer with their unofficial mascot in what is known as the town’s biggest festival. Geckofest is set to take place on Saturday, September 5th from 10am to 10pm at Beach Boulevard in Gulfport. Enjoy live music on two stages, street performers, a costume contest, artisans & craftsmen, walking parade and local food vendors! This is a FREE family-friendly event not to be missed! The 3rd annual Festival of Flight will take place September 11th through 13th from 5pm to 9pm at the Tampa North Flight Center in Lutz. Celebrate all forms of flight with hot air balloons, planes, deltas, kites and helicopters. Enjoy a day of family fun with sunrise and night glow hot air balloon launches, balloon rides, live music and great local food. The festival is free but parking is $5. Looking forward into October… it’s the 12th Annual Pumpkin Palooza Family Fall Festival. The GFWC St. Petersburg Junior Woman’s Club will host this FREE event on Saturday, October 3rd from 11am to 5pm. Enjoy kid’s games and crafts, food, inflatables, arts & crafts vendors, live entertainment, petting zoo and pumpkin patch! The festival will be held at Northside Baptist Church located at 6000 38th Avenue North, St. Petersburg, FL 33710. There will also be a canned food drive.
