An Allegiant Air flight departing Omaha, Nebraska for St. Pete-Clearwater on Friday was delayed because of a maintenance issue. The plane was scheduled to leave Omaha at 12:04 p.m. EST but was initally delayed because of weather in Florida, an Allegiant Air spokesperson said.

The flight was further delayed because of a maintenance issue, the spokesperson added. The airline needed a replacement, and the passengers did not leave Omaha until 9:27 p.m. EST.

Passengers were given refreshments at the gate and meal vouchers, the spokesperson said. In addition, passengers received $75 vouchers for future travel.

Multiple Allegiant planes have made emergency landings at the St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport this summer.
