TRAVEL: Delays at Tampa International Airport due to weather

TAMPA, FL (WFLA) – Tampa International Airport is experiencing heavy travel delays due to the winds and rain in the area. There were no reported cancellations at noon Monday.

TIA Spokeswoman Emily Nipps said as of about 11:30 am, there were 161 delays, 90 arrivals and 71 departures.

By about 4 p.m. there were 19 diversions, 180 flights delayed (106 departures and 74 Arrivals) and two flights were canceled.

Nipps urges travelers to check with their airline to stay up-to-speed on their flight schedule. You can check TIA flight status here

Earlier Monday morning all arriving flights were put on hold, but after about 30 minutes planes began landing again at TIA.
