TAMPA, FL (WFLA) — The rush is on as parents get ready for the back to school routine. From packing lunches, to getting school supplies, planning ahead of time can help you start off the school year right.
Juggling a career and family is what inspired a Tampa mom to simplify her own life. “I couldn’t do it all, not perfectly. I felt like every other woman in the world was doing it all right, with by the way, perfect hair and six inch heels,” said Emily Ley, who’s Simplified Planner is flying off store shelves and selling out online.
Ley came up with the idea to juggle her own life, and apparently she’s not alone. Now hundreds of thousands of women worldwide are getting their hands on her planner.
“My son is starting kindergarten in September my daughter is starting preschool, I’m going to use this planner to get organized,” said Kerri Pouliot, just one of the many YouTubers hoping to get organized.
Ley suggest first writing down the most important things on your to do list. “I start with appointments, doctors appointments, school meetings, and other big commitments,” Lay said.
Then start early planning. Ley suggest setting aside time on Sundays to figure out lunches, dinners and what to expect in the coming week. Start gathering items for the school year now, like school supplies, and purge what you don’t need. “Physical clutter is mental clutter.” said Ley.
Ley also includes inspiration in her planners to remind women they can’t take on the world. “Life is busy and as women we are torn in so many different directions.” said Ley.
She recommends giving yourself a little bit of grace, as we head into what is sure to be a busy school year.
