Two suspects arrested in St Pete homicide

ST PETERSBURG, FL (WFLA) – A homicide is under investigation in St Petersburg early Saturday morning.

The crime scene is located at the 700 block of 87th Avenue North. The investigation began at about 1 a.m. Saturday. SPPD detectives said that two suspects, Jennifer A. Schlag, 45, and Derrick McMillin, 40, are suspected of murdering their 54-year-old male acquaintance inside the home some time in the last few weeks.

The motive appeared to be drug-related, police said. The victim’s body was hidden on the property.

After it has been recovered, the investigation started and the suspects were arrested and charged with a first-degree murder.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Forensic Unit is processing the crime scene.
