PORT RICHEY, FL (WFLA) – A Precautionary Boil Water Notice was issued for both east and west Brown Acres subdivision in Port Richey Sunday, according to the city officials.

A water main break of a six-inch line caused the water service interruption in the subdivision. Due to the loss of water pressure the precautionary boil water notice was issued by Port Richey city officials. A “rolling boil” of one minute is sufficient, the residents can also use bottle water.

The notice will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe, the city officials said. The officials will notify the residents when the boil water notice is not in effect any more.
