Boil Water Notice issued for Port Richey

PORT RICHEY, FL (WFLA) – A Precautionary Boil Water Notice was issued for both east and west Brown Acres subdivision in Port Richey Sunday, according to the city officials.

A water main break of a six-inch line caused the water service interruption in the subdivision. Due to the loss of water pressure the precautionary boil water notice was issued by Port Richey city officials. A “rolling boil” of one minute is sufficient, the residents can also use bottle water.

The notice will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe, the city officials said. The officials will notify the residents when the boil water notice is not in effect any more. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
