HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL (WFLA) – A teenager is behind bars after deputies said he damaged an unmarked Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office vehicle in June.

Angel Perez, 16, was at a loud party at the Summerfield subdivision in Hillsborough County on June 19 with more than 200 other guests, according to HCSO. When the deputies arrived to try and disperse the gathering, Perez climbed on the roof of the patrol car, started jumping on it and caused over $1,000 in damage to the hood. He also broke the rear window, according to HCSO.

A tip from the Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay lead the deputies to Perez. They found him at his home Friday night and interviewed him. He admitted to damaging the car.

He was taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center. He was charged with felony criminal mischief (greater than $1000) and two counts of violation of felony probation.
