Sarasota police find endangered man with Alzheimer’s

Sarasota Police Officers have located a man who had been missing all day Thursday. Robert  D. Hapner, 57, and his brother were shopping in the 3000 block of North Washington Boulevard. Hapner’s brother left him in the car. When the brother returned, Hapner was gone.

Authorities were concerned because Hapner suffered from Alzheimer’s.

Thursday afternoon, Hapner walked into a Sarasota County Fire Station.  They have transported him to a local hospital to be checked out. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
