Tampa Police looking for missing woman


Update: Redessa Garland has been found safe and been returned to her home.

Tampa Police are actively searching for Redessa Garland, a missing elderly woman with dementia. Garland left her home, in the 2500 block of East 17th Ave., between 2 and 5 p.m. Police are concerned for her well-being.

Garland is a black female. She’s 5’2″ and weighs about 180 pounds. She was last seen wearing a peach, short-sleeved T-shirt with yellow flowers on it. She was wearing blue jean shorts and black shoes. One of Garland’s legs is larger than the other. She utilizes a silver walker to assist her in walking. She has brown eyes and brown frizzy hair but when she was last seen she was wearing a short wig that was brown and gold in color.

Garland may have been seen around 6:40 p.m. walking eastbound on East 21st Avenue from North 18th Street. If you see her, please contact the Tampa Police.
