Storms cause damage in Hillsborough, Pinellas

No injuries were reported

TAMPA, FL (WFLA) – A few houses had some storm damage when a line of thunderstorms rolled through Hillsborough County early Friday afternoon.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for Hillsborough at about 3:40 p.m. Friday. Tampa Electric reported a power outage to more than 1200 customers near 30th Street in Tampa. Hillsborough County Fire Rescue crews responded to a collapsed wall east of 56th Street in Tampa which caused a power outage in the area. No injuries were reported at these locations.

A roof collapsed during the storm on Henry Avenue in Tampa Friday afternoon. Tampa Fire Rescue responded to this incident and didn’t report any injuries.

A tree fell on a metal structure on Bonaker Drive in Tampa. Nobody was hurt but the structure had extensive damage.

A house on Hanna Avenue in Tampa also sustained storm damage after a tree fell on the roof.

Earlier Friday a lightning bolt struck a house in Clearwater. Clearwater Fire Rescue crews responded to the scene. They said the lightning bolt didn’t start a fire and didn’t destroy the roof. No injuries were reported.
