BEIJING (WFLA)- Matt Damon stepped out at a press event in Beijing to promote his upcoming movie “The Great Wall” Wednesday, but it was his new look that had everyone talking.

The 44-year-old actor sported a sleek, thick ponytail, marking a departure from his usual clean-cut look. To complement the laid-back new ‘do, Damon also wore jeans and a plaid button-down.

While the topic of Damon’s tresses has been gaining momentum on social media, it has yet to inspire its own Twitter account, a la Jared Leto’s man braid earlier this year.

“The Great Wall” doesn’t hit theaters till 2016. It’s a fantasy adventure movie set around the building of the Great Wall and combines a Chinese land and story with Hollywood monsters.
