ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) -A Florida man had a scary encounter with a shark that flipped over his kayak and it was all recorded on video.
Ben Chancey was fishing in his kayak for grouper outside the St. Lucie Inlet in St. Lucie County. He caught a grouper, but the grouper spit out the bait. Then, a circling bull shark jumped to grab the bait and knocked Chancey out of his kayak.
Chancey landed on top of the shark, but managed to swim to safety.
Experts say if you are ever swimming and see a shark, swim away as quickly and calmly as possible. Don’t panic and thrash around in the water because that could trigger a shark’s instinct to bite.
