WATCH: Video shows Georgia girls leaping to safety during fire

Dramatic video shows residents leaping to safety after a fire broke out in their apartment building. It happened Tuesday in Sandy Springs, Georgia. A young woman on the third floor was trapped inside, shouting from a window.

That’s when neighbors came to help her out, convincing her to jump. The young woman leapt to safety – into the arms of her neighbors. Then, a second person appeared in the broken window. This girl, even younger, climbed out and also jumped.

Police officers went door to door, checking to see if anyone else was inside. Within seconds of the officers making sure everyone was out safely, flames erupted on the roof. Officials say 20 people and 11 families were left without a home as a result of the blaze. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
