SEFFNER, FL (WFLA)- A Seffner man is recovering after being shot during an apparent theft. Hillsborough deputies identified the man as 35-year-old Longino Comacho. Investigators say around 4 this morning, he walked outside of his home, at 1602 North Taylor Road, to find out why his dogs were barking. He noticed one of his ATV’s had been loaded onto a truck. Detective Larry McKinnon says moments later, he saw the suspects. “At some point the suspects, one possibly two, ambushed him and he was shot at that time,” McKinnon said.
Authorities don’t believe this was a random act, and they’re checking to see if the suspects knew the victim. “There have been occasions where people have looked at property they spotted, decided not to buy it, left it to where they might purchase it at another time, so we’re going to go through all of those scenarios,” McKinnon said. Camacho was listed in serious condition at Tampa General Hospital.
Anyone with any information reference the suspects is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at 247-8200 or anyone with any information regarding the identity and whereabouts of these suspects and who wants to be eligible for a cash reward is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477)
