Old McMicky’s Farm in Odessa a Gr8 Summer Getaway

ODESSA, FL (WFLA) — A huge hands-on educational farm is just a few minutes outside the city limits and gives children alike a fun interactive experience. Old McMicky’s Farm in Odessa is featured on WFLA’s “Gr8 Summer Getaways” series, because a family of four can spend the day there for well under our set $108 budget.

It costs $10 for children and $12 for adults, and that includes a guided tour of the farm and a free hayride. What makes Old McMicky’s unique is that it is an educational farm.

“I was amazed how many kids didn’t realize when they see chickens and eggs that’s where they come from, and how many come up to me and ask where does chocolate milk come from,” said Ralph Zuckerman, owner of Old McMicky’s Farm.

Visitors can actually milk a cow on the farm and spend time with other animals like bunnies and goats. The sprawling farm is in pristine condition with wash stations scattered about and sits on the edge of Crescent Lake in Odessa, Florida. With such a beautiful backdrop the farm has become a popular back drop for weddings and company parties.

No matter who comes to visit, the farm animals seems to love the human interaction and welcoming everyone to their authentic surroundings.
