PASCO COUNTY, FL (WFLA) – Pasco County deputies arrested an assistant wrestling coach for trying to befriend young boys on social media pretending to be a girl, according to the PCSO report.
Carlos Perez, 22, was an assistant wrestling coach at Wesley Chapel High School. He was not a full-time employee at the school, but worked there on a contract for the high school wrestling season.
Deputies said, for about five years Perez posed as a 16-year-old girl on social media trying to make friends with teen boys. Perez sent the boys naked pictures of an unknown girl, and asked for the boys’ nude images in return, according to the PCSO report.
Perez admitted that he knew some of his victims and was fully aware of their age, according to PCSO.
Perez was arrested on two counts of transmission of material harmful to a minor. Deputies identified two victims although Perez provided information on more.
Detectives said that additional charges are possible as they continue to investigate.
