New banners and signs announcing the Lightning’s run for the Stanley Cup are rolling off presses in Tampa and going up around Tampa Bay.
Some of the signs are replacing ones that announced the Bolts’ playoff run around Amalie Arena, where the Lightning will play their first Stanley Cup Final game against the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday.
“It’s been very hectic – but a good hectic,” said Crystal Richardson, sales manager at OAI, the company printing huge banners for the arena.
The company is printing several hundred pieces for the Stanley Cup Final, she said. Some will decorate the arena while others will go up at area hotels and on light poles around downtown Tampa.
“As soon as we saw the Stanley cup logo it’s like – yes we made it!” she said.
OAI production foreman Chuck Lee was born and raised in Tampa and is known as a big fan on the floor. Still, when first Stanley Cup order came off the press, Lee said his thoughts turned to the volume still to come.
“We’ve got a lot more to do,” he said.
